Confessions of a Shopaholic
Reading this like Dr. Seuss, will keep you’re tongue and tonsils loose.

If they make it, we will buy it
Even if it’s shit, we’ll try it.
Look this hoodie has a hood
Look this one is just as good
No it’s not, that ones a fake
But it costs the same to make
This one has the Gucci name
that’s a knock off, it’s so lame
This ones real, you can’t compare it
Gucci should pay me to wear it
We want big designer brands
Famous names are in demand
Things that show our sense of taste
and the cash we have to waste
Big things, small things.
We buy all things.
High-demand things.
short supply things.
Don’t ask what things,
Don’t ask why things,
We buy things we can’t afford.
We spend money ‘cause we’re bored.
Store’s sell things so someone buys it,
Just because they advertise it.
We buy things we’ll never need.
We buy into corp’rate greed.
If they sell it, we must get it.
can’t afford it? pay on credit.
Gotta have these new devices,
When the one I have suffices.
Even in financial crisis,
They keep jacking up the prices.
Hot things, cold things.
But no old things.
Things we buy must all be new.
Old things reflect bad on you.
Buying new things makes more waste.
Too high-priced or in poor taste.
Kids all want the trendy goodies:
New designer kicks and hoodies.
After shopping don’t deny it,
Later you’ll say “Why’d I buy it?”
You were programmed too! That’s why!
Every ad that caught your eye,
Made you want to go and buy…
Local sales tax may apply
Girl things, guy things.
Wet things, dry things.
Good things, bad things.
Mom things, dad things.
We buy things and think we need ‘em.
giving us a sense of freedom.
Some of us have next to nothing.
Some of us are stuffed with stuffing.
My stuff, your stuff.
Who has more stuff?
Give stuff, take stuff.
Real stuff, fake stuff.
Love me for the things I’ve got,
Judge me for what I have not.
Buying things to have possessions.
Buying things is our obsession.
Owning things won’t cure depression.
Buying is not self-expression.
We buy things to be unique.
We buy things we think are chic.
Buying things for buying’s sake.
Won’t, a happy person, make.
Why make money just to spend it?
It’s a vicious cycle. End It!
[Disclaimer: The author would never be caught wearing trendy designer crap.
Thrift shop finds are what we crave;
My buds and I, we love to save!
